About Komus company

The Komus company (established in 1991) occupies a leading position in the Russian market as a manufacturer and comprehensive supplier of office and business goods: stationery materials, computer equipment, office furniture, food products for office use, as well as goods for sales, production, and warehousing. The following types of manufacture are divided into separate business directions: manufacture of rigid plastic packaging (Komus Packaging Division), supply of medical products (Komus Medicine Division), printing paper and cardboard types (), workwear and personal protective equipment(ROiSIZ Subdivision), and contact center services (Komus-Kontakt).

The manufacturing complex of the Komus company includes 4 factories producing rigid plastic packaging, a line producing BOPS film (the only line in Russia), a factory producing receipt tape and Soma labels, as well as the BanKO manufacture of office goods (folders, stickers, notebooks for flipcharts, etc.) and sheeting lines.

Komus online store is part of Top-30 of retailers of the Russian internet segment and is a developed sales channel in B2B, B2C, and wholesale. It includes more than 150000 products. The total number of employees of the Komus Company Group exceeds 14000 people.

History

There are some important numbers for us. They are just numbers without any meaning, but we just love them.

1991

Founding of the Komus company, the launch of office goods sales via the Corporate and Wholesale channels.

1992

Launch of the direction for the sale of printing paper and cardboard types.

1993

Opening of the first retail store of the Komus company.

1995

Launch of the division for the sale of single-use plastic packaging for food products — the Komus Packaging Division.

1996

Opening of the first Regional Office (in Nizhny Novgorod city). The beginning of Komus’ regional expansion period. Launch of the division for the sale of medical goods — the Komus Medicine Division.

1997

Establishment of the Komus Packaging factory in Golitsyno city of the Moscow Region. Opening of SOMA manufacture for the production of receipt tape and large format paper on the territory of the factory.

1998

Launch of the corporate website of the Company.

2000

Establishment of the Komus Packaging company in Maloyaroslavets city of the Kaluga Region. Production of the first package of class A cut paper (chlorine free) under the proprietary trademark of Komus Document.

2003

Construction of the BanKO factory in Kolomna city of the Moscow Region. The enterprise specializes in manufacture of folders. In the future, the production of block cubes, notepads for flipcharts, and magnet-marker boards will be launched.

2004

Opening of the Ural factory of Komus Packaging in Chelyabinsk city. The beginning of Komus’ active regional expansion period. Over the next four years, 26 Regional Representative Offices and Sales Offices were opened.

2005

Launch of the Siberian factory of Komus Packaging in Yurga city of the Kemerovo Region. The manufacturing complex of Komus grew to seven enterprises.

2006

Komus was included in the Forbes rating of 200 largest private companies of Russia.

2007

Commissioning of the Kuban factory of Komus Packaging in Kushchevskaya stanitsa of the Krasnodar Territory. Opening of the first proprietary contact center (Moscow city).

2009

Opening of Tver Contact Center, which was the second center opened.

2010

The millionth customer completed purchase in Komus Online Store. The only factory in Russia manufacturing BOPS film (which is used as the raw material for the manufacture of single-use plastic packaging) was built on the territory of the Odintsovskaya factory.

2011

Two millionth customer completed purchase in Komus Online Store. Opening of Tula Contact Center, which was the third one opened.

2012

Construction and launch of Domodedovo distribution center in Domodedovo city of the Moscow Region. Komus retail network grew to sixty stores.

2014

Opening of the Domodedovo Contact Center.

2015

Komus Online Store took the 10th place in the ranking of the largest online retailers of Russian web segment. Opening of the hundredth retail store of the Komus company.

2016

All-Russian competitions were held among designers to develop collections of school notebooks and backpacks.

2017

Improvement of services’ functioning and service quality.

2020

Komus was included in Top 50 of the best Russian employers in the rating of HH.ru.

2021

Sales of workwear and personal protection equipment were allocated into a separate subdivision.

2022

Opening of the Polaris warehouse complex in Domodedovo city of the Moscow Region

Corporate channel – В2В sales. In the Corporate channel, Komus controls 65% of Moscow market and 25–30% on average of the market in the regions of presence.

E-commerce – sales to natural persons and legal entities via Company’s Online Store (COS). COS takes about 60% of Komus’ sales structure. COS is consistently included in Top 30 of the largest online retailers of the Russian web segment.

Wholesale channel – wholesale sales. Komus Wholesale Center (KWC) has representatives in 14 regions. Komus is part of the three top Russian wholesale companies by the volume of stationery goods sales in Russia.

Competitive channel - sales through the system of competitive purchases. Every year Komus wins in 30 thousand competitive procedures.

News

On March 20, 2023, Komus’ proprietary manufacturing facility, BanKO, expanded its product line with a new type of product — flipcharts, rotating, and three-section boards. The capacity of the factory is sufficient to fully cover the demand of all the customers of the Company.

The winners of the Russian National Award of the Stationery and Office Goods Market Golden Clip were announced and the awards were presented at the solemn ceremony which was held on February 7, 2023 in Moscow in accordance with the results of 2022. The Komus company became the winner in the honorary nomination For the Contribution to the Development of the Industry.

The grand opening of the Polaris warehouse complex was held in Domodedovo city of the Moscow Region on October 11, 2022. The new complex is located in two kilometers from Komus’ Central Warehouse and will be used for the storage of medical products, household chemicals, commercial packaging, cleaning supplies, as well as beauty and health products. The storage capacity of the new site exceeds 16000 cubic meters.

On November 15, 2021, the new central office of Komus in Moscow opened its doors to newcomers. 800 employees were included in the first wave of the move. The office is located in the large Integral Business Center, where Komus now occupies 65% of total floor area. After the conclusion of all stages of the move in April of 2022, 2000 employees of the Company will work in this eleven-story building.
